Booking terms and conditions for cruising season 2025-2026
A 30 € booking fee per person is charged at the moment of reservation.
The final payment is charged 30 days before the cruise date.
If a reservation is made 30 days or less before cruise departure, full payment is charged immediately.Optional Cancellation Insurance
At the time of booking, customers may purchase Cancellation Insurance for 30 € per person.This insurance allows the customer to cancel the booking free of charge up to 48 hours before the cruise date. Please note that Cancellation Insurance does not cover the 30 € booking fee per person, which is always non-refundable. The Cancellation Insurance fee itself is non-refundable. Cancellation Insurance must be purchased at the time of booking and cannot be added later.
Standard Cancellation Policy (without Cancellation Insurance)
No cancellation fees are charged if the booking is canceled 31 or more days before cruise departure.
The 30 € booking fee per person is non-refundable. If the booking is canceled 30 days before cruise departure or later, 100% of the total price is charged.
In case of no-show, late arrival for cruise departure, or missing the shuttle bus pick-up resulting in missing the cruise, 100% fees apply.
Rebooking is subject to availability and an additional rebooking fee of 50 € per person applies. Cancellation fees apply regardless of the reason, including travel restrictions, medical reasons, or personal circumstances. We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover potential cancellation costs due to health conditions or other unforeseen circumstances preventing travel.
All cancellations and changes must be made in written and dated within the office hours in Finland (08:00-16:00, +2 GMT, Mon-Fri) by email info@icebreaker.fi
Cruise date and time can be changed at any time, but latest 72 hours before the cruise departure. Cruise or cruise package price is paid according to the final choice of cruise. Change of date and time is only possible to available at the moment of change departures. 50€ per person changing fees apply to changes made less than 72 h before departure.
In case of the date change, cruises put on hold, the cancellation deadline is counted based on the original booking date.
Cancellation fees cannot be used for buying any other services.
SHUTTLE BUS
Please pay close attention on the location and time you chose for icebreaker shuttle bus pick up. Pick up time is always local time of pick up location.
TIME ZONES
When coming from Finland, please notice that Finland is one hour ahead of Sweden and cruise departure times are presented with both times.
EARLY SEASON CRUISES IN DECEMBER
Early December cruises are running normally in any ice conditions. Please note that Ice and it’s thickness is not guaranteed until mid December. By booking icebreaker cruise for early December, passenger accepts cruising at possible weak or “no ice” conditions. Walking on ice may not be available until early January.
SWIMMING ACTIVITY
Polar Explorer Oy shall not be held liable for any compensation for loss of gratification in case of swimming cancellation for safety reason an unforeseeable adverse weather conditions.
POLAR EXPLORER WITHHOLDS THE RIGHTS
– to change the timetables / contents of the Icebreaker Cruises due to ice or weather conditions or other similar force majeure situation. Polar Explorer shall not be held liable for any compensation for loss of gratification in case of unforeseeable adverse weather conditions.
