Join Us

Join our international team in Kalix and become part of one of the Laplands most unique tourism experiences aboard an icebreaker. This hands-on internship offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in Arctic and Lapland tourism while working alongside experienced guides and crew members. You’ll learn how day-to-day operations are run, support a variety of tasks across the guest experience, and develop valuable skills in an international environment. The internship takes place during the winter season, with a range of responsibilities depending on operational needs. The duration of the internship is flexible and depends on your study requirements and internship agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Support the guide team during cruises and help make each trip welcoming and informative
  • Assist with the ice floating activity and help guests in and out of the dry suits
  • Help run guided tours around the ship and learn how each part of the day fits together
  • Take care of daily routine tasks and keep the operation running smoothly with the team
  • Help keep a positive, friendly atmosphere for guests from all over the world

Requirements

  • Comfortable communicating in English and motivated to learn
  • Interest in Arctic tourism and a wish to learn the work hands-on
  • Basic physical strength and the ability to work outdoors in cold weather
  • An outgoing, friendly personality and comfort talking to people
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to contribute across different areas of the operation
